Design your life

Life is for the making, not the taking.

“If you don’t design your own life plan, chances are you’ll fall into someone else’s plan. And guess what they have planned for you? Not much.”

—Jim Rohn

When I begin to design a project, I have a little ritual that gets me into the right headspace. I need to be open and empathetic to my client and their goals, I must be sympathetic with their client and the results they’re looking for, and I must be tapped into the flow allowing ideas to move through me and on to the screen.

I’ve been doing this little routine for so long that I can’t help but naturally fall in line when I want to design (or most often RE-design) an area of my life. Whether I want to change a bad habit of watching stupid television shows EV-ER-Y-SINGLE-NIGHT, or make better choices about the food I’m putting in my body… I ALSO, now quite naturally, get into the headspace that will allow me to create goals, identify wanted results, and tap into the magic that is “creation.”

I believe life is for the ‘MAKING,’ not the ‘taking.’ We are blessed with the ability to dream up something that doesn’t exist yet (at least not in our lives) and blessed with the ability to make choices that lead us toward making that dream a reality.

What’s one big thing that you’re determined to bring to life?

I’m asking you to join me in thinking like a designer… tap into the next version of you and bring her to life!!
