Of the 31,102 verses in the Bible, one has shown up for me twice in 24 hours. When that happens, I know I’m meant to hear it. And maybe you’re meant to hear it, too?
LUKE 6:38
This time of year is so magical for me. It makes me feel like I want to slow down and appreciate the small things as much as the big. The “bad” as much as the good.
I’m also feeling torn…
I want to slow down, but the to-do lists are longer.
The longer nights make me want to sleep in, but the thought of a new year right around the corner has me longing to prepare for the new adventures to come!
The tug and pull of slow-down and speed-up can be so distracting!
I want to cut out of work early to make cookies with my kids. But clients have projects and deadlines and goals to reach by the end of the year.
I want to write content, create programs, and market this coaching business. But end-of-year billing and paperwork is a priority.
I want to go to bed early, exercise, and eat healthy. But Christmas cookies, Christmas lights, and Christmas cards.
And I know I’ll get them done, I always do. I’m ambitious, goal-oriented, and a problem-solver.
If ever there is a time I am left with nothing, I will still have my faith. I know and believe that when we give, it will be given to us. I’ve seen it over and over again… I bet you have, too!
“He rules the world with truth and grace” has been on repeat in my head the last few days.
The reason for the season is preparing for rebirth, renewal, rejoicing, forgiving, loving, living, and sharing any little bit of sparkle you can.
To me, the truth is, He’s already given to us the gifts that make us special and unique. And it’s our job to give them again. Each of us already contains a good measure, we will never run out.
I am slowing down. I am enjoying the small, magical moments. I am living by truth. Receiving grace.
One where you no longer hold yourself back.
One where fear will never derail your vision.
A year where “A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap.”
