It ISN’T what it is

When things don’t go as planned, life catches us off guard, and a situation can’t be controlled we easily default to the crutch: “Well, it is what it is.”

We throw our hands up and dismiss it. And either move on or continue to ruminate in its ugly.

We’re either believing there’s nothing we can do about it or bypassing what we can do about it.

Next time you hear yourself say “it is what it is” out loud, ask yourself: What if it isn’t?

Creativity is a magical space where solutions and possibility abounds—the key to opening the all-access door is simply a shift in perspective.

Your perception is your reality, but your “reality” may not be absolute truth.

Which means that shifting your perception shifts your reality.

  •  What else might be possible?
  •  What solutions haven’t been thought of yet?
  •  What results are waiting on the other side of ignorance?
  •  Who else can help?
  •  What is this limiting belief protecting against?

We may think something is what it is. Or, we may just want to believe that it is, so that we don’t have to take responsibility.

The real truth, here, is that your thoughts are your responsibility… yours alone.

Jim Fortin says, “Your circumstances are not your prison. Your interpretations are.” Creating a new life for yourself begins by taking responsibility for your thoughts, breaking the bars of limiting beliefs, and allowing yourself the freedom to create NEW thoughts that align with who you want to become.

“If you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.”

WAYNE DYER

I have a mantra:

“If you don’t like it, change it.
If you can’t change it, change the way you think about it.
If you can’t change the way you think about it, walk away.”

We’ve all overcome challenges in our lives, even big ones, and they all stemmed from a decision. We get to decide!

  •  Whether we like something, or not.
  •  Whether we want to change our perception about it, or not.
  •  Whether we want to keep it in our lives, or not.
  •  Whether it supports the higher version of ourselves, or not.

We all have much more power than we’re even aware of.
If it isn’t what it is, what could it be?
